How PlavaSail works

PlavaSail is a charter concierge and directory, not a travel agent. We catalogue crewed and skippered yachts, catamarans, and sailing boats across Croatia's five great cruising grounds — Dubrovnik and the Elaphiti, Split and Hvar, the Kornati archipelago, Vis and Korčula, and Istria with the Kvarner — and we handle the conversation between you and the operator until you're ready to book.

The actual charter contract is held by the operator — a licensed Croatian charter company or a professional captain working under Croatian and EU maritime rules. They take the deposit, issue the charter agreement, and handle the on-water service. We earn a commission from the operator for the introduction.

PIXELO MOBILE LTD (trading as PlavaSail) is not the contracting party for any charter, and we never hold guest funds in escrow. That's the operator's job, with their licence and insurance backing the booking.

Why we run it this way

Three reasons, each genuinely better for you than the alternative of buying direct or through a generic OTA:

• You don't pay a deposit until your captain confirms. Generic OTAs take a deposit on click and refund only if the operator declines. We never take the deposit ourselves; the operator only invoices once the captain has accepted your dates.
• One concierge, every operator. Croatian operators work in Croatian, English and often German. We reply in EN, DE, IT, or RU within 4 hours during European business hours, and we relay your questions to the operator on your behalf.
• The contracting party is licensed in Croatia. If anything goes wrong on the water, you're dealing with an operator regulated in the same jurisdiction as the boat — not a UK marketplace whose hands are tied.

The legal stuff

PlavaSail is a trading name of PIXELO MOBILE LTD, a private limited company registered in England & Wales (company no. 10585806). We disclose the operator for every vessel that has one (visible on the listing page). Charter bookings are governed by the operator's contract and Croatian consumer law.
